Silver Street Studios: Lorena Morales [Review]
By Matt Adams. Halt 713
Lorena Morales grew up watching the Venezuelan sun but, more importantly, SEEING the sun and being affected by the light and shadows it creates. Although such “artistic DNA” generally leads an artist to choose photography as their medium of choice, Morales decided that reverse-painted plexiglass was the suitable media to explore this subject matter.
“These captivating pieces HAVE to be seen in person in order to be properly viewed; these photos just don’t do it justice!”
There is no arguing that this media is well-suited to exploring light and shadow in this work.
These captivating pieces HAVE to be seen in person in order to be properly viewed; these photos just don’t do it! (But we have to start somewhere, right?)
Morales has had exhibits in Miami & Venezuela (Art Nouveau Gallery) and in Germany (LEDD Art Space and Ausstellungsbereich des Rathauses von Oberhaching). Her second exhibition in Germany is actually opening this week. This artist’s exhibition history proves commitment and success.
